The relationship between Newtraid and volunteers and clients. The Newtraid confidentiality policy.

It is the intent of Newtraid.org to provide the highest quality services to organisations throughout the world that cannot afford commercial consultancy. Although Newtraid bears no responsibility for the actions of consultants or their respective clients, it is expected that consultants act in a professional manner, consistent with sector standards and ethics. Newtraid will not divulge without the permission of a potential client information concerning that potential client’s business affairs or technical processes to any third party except the selected consultant. Newtraid will not divulge any personal or other information concerning a Newtraid Volunteer Consultant without the permission of the Consultant.

Ethical standards of Consultants. Relationship with clients.

Volunteer Consultants shall: -

• Accurately represent their qualifications and experience in their Response Forms or CVs. Offer only the professional service for which they are qualified by training and experience, recommending the engagement of other Consultants or specialists when this is in the best interest of the Client.
• Not, without their Client's authority, divulge confidential information concerning their business affairs or technical processes.
• Not recommend goods or services from sources in which they have a commercial interest.
  
• Not accept fees or commissions from Consultancy work directly arising from contacts made at Newtraid.org. Should it become evident that a project could be commercially viable or the client can afford normal commercial consulting rates the consultant can enter into an independent contract with the client. In this case Newtraid© involvement would cease but a donation would be expected to support further work by Newtraid©
  
• Have due regard for and comply with relevant law.
• Have due regard to the short, long term effects, and possible consequences of present and proposed activities.
  

Qualification for using services of a Voluntary Consultant. Liability of Consultant and Newtraid.

Submission of a request for support or assistance shall signify that the potential client accepts the conditions laid out as follows.

• Is not in a position to employ a consultant at normal commercial rates.
• Benefits or seeks to benefit the local community in which they are located.
• Is prepared to disclose sufficient information to Newtraid and the selected consultant to enable sound advice to be given.
• Clearly understands that in consideration of the advice and help being given on a free voluntary basis they indemnify and hold harmless Newtraid, its owners and its volunteers for any harm to people, or any liability or claim related to any property or business loss or damage caused by acting on any of the information they receive from a Newtraid volunteer.
